AI in UAE Indian-Curriculum Schools: CBSE and UAE Requirements at a Glance
A CBSE school in the UAE reads two sets of documents about AI: CBSE’s circulars and the UAE authorities’ announcements. As of 3 November 2026, neither set names a platform, and the UAE side has no published timetable for international-curriculum private schools. The table below says what each source states, what it leaves out, and when it was published.
Every row links its source · Last verified 3 November 2026. Gulf News counts 106 CBSE schools in the UAE (page last updated November 2025).

CBSE
| What the source says | What it does not say | Source and date |
|---|---|---|
| CBSE introduces the Computational Thinking (CT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) curriculum "for Classes III-VIII from the academic session 2026-27". "All schools are advised to take necessary steps for effective implementation of the curriculum." | The circular is addressed to the heads of CBSE schools. It does not name the UAE. | CBSE Circular Acad-15/20261 April 2026 |
| CBSE approaches CT and AI "without dependence on any platform". The curriculum "mandates CT + AI + Ethics + Unplugged Learning". | CBSE does not require a platform or a purchase for CT & AI in this circular. | CBSE Circular Acad-18/20269 April 2026 |
| For students now in Class IX (2026-27), the "Modules of CT & AI" are not part of the curriculum. Vocational Education is compulsory: Kaushal Vikas, or one of 22 skill subjects, which include 417 Artificial Intelligence, with a Class X board exam in 2027-28. | The circular covers one batch. It does not say what the 2027-28 Class IX batch studies. | CBSE Circular Acad-70/202629 October 2026 |
UAE federal
| What the source says | What it does not say | Source and date |
|---|---|---|
| The Cabinet approved an AI curriculum across "all UAE public and private schools", with the stated aim to "train 22,000 teachers and educators". | The report gives no start date or timetable, and does not name a provider. International-curriculum private schools have no published timetable. | The National, 2 September 20262 September 2026 |
| The 2026-27 teaching plan covers "public and private schools applying the national curriculum" and formalises the subject title "Artificial Intelligence and Technology", replacing "computing, creative design and innovation". | The plan, as reported, is about schools applying the national curriculum. It does not say that private schools on other curricula, such as CBSE, must teach this subject. | Gulf News, UAE approves new 2026-2027 teaching plan2026. The page shows "Last updated: February 24, 2026"; it gives no separate approval date. |
Abu Dhabi: ADEK
| What the source says | What it does not say | Source and date |
|---|---|---|
| ADEK is advancing an AI literacy initiative across "more than 170 private schools", KG to Grade 12. ADEK has built "a dedicated AI curriculum"; schools "can integrate the curriculum within existing subjects, through a hybrid model or as a standalone offering". | ADEK's release does not say that schools must adopt its curriculum. It does not give a timeline for the curriculum. | ADEK, 18 September 202618 September 2026 |
| An AI Growth Test, "a standardized school-level AI assessment", runs twice a year for students in Grades 4-12. Where it finds gaps, "targeted bridging lessons" follow. | No limits stated. | ADEK, 18 September 202618 September 2026 |
| "Mandatory Level 1 Foundational AI Literacy training" applies to educators; ADEK targets 19,000 educators for training and upskilling. | This is the only part of the initiative that ADEK's release calls mandatory. | ADEK, 18 September 202618 September 2026 |
| "Schools are required to use AI learning tools that meet ADEK requirements." | The release does not describe how a tool is assessed, and no approved-vendor process is published there. No tool can claim to meet ADEK requirements from this sentence alone. | ADEK, 18 September 202618 September 2026 |
Dubai: KHDA
| What the source says | What it does not say | Source and date |
|---|---|---|
| KHDA's new rules on AI use are "expected to come into effect next year", that is 2027. KHDA's director general said: "We're going to have some sort of standardisation, but still not hinder innovation." | The report does not give a date, and it does not say KHDA will name the AI tools schools must use. It reports that standards are more likely to set safeguards schools must consider. | The National, 1 October 20261 October 2026 |
What is not yet published
- A UAE timetable. The Cabinet decision of 2 September 2026 gives no start date for international-curriculum private schools.
- A required ADEK curriculum. ADEK’s release does not say schools must adopt its curriculum. It calls Level 1 teacher training mandatory.
- How ADEK assesses AI tools. The release says schools are required to use AI learning tools that meet ADEK requirements, and publishes no vendor or approval process. If your school is in Abu Dhabi, ask ADEK directly.
- KHDA’s rules. They are expected in 2027, and the report does not say KHDA will name the tools schools must use.
- CBSE for the 2027-28 Class IX batch. Circular Acad-70/2026 covers the current batch only.
Which UAE regulator applies to your school?
It depends on the emirate. ADEK regulates private schools in Abu Dhabi, KHDA in Dubai and SPEA in Sharjah; the Ministry of Education covers the other emirates. CBSE sets the curriculum your school teaches. Read the circulars from both, and read the ADEK AI training explainer and the UAE MoE curriculum guide for the wider UAE picture.
Where LittleAIMaster sits
The curricula above come from the boards and regulators themselves, not from a vendor: CBSE’s resource books and ADEK’s curriculum and toolkits, for example. LittleAIMaster is none of them, and no board or regulator requires it. It is a Grades 6-12 AI-literacy course with teacher dashboards, which a school can use as extra practice and per-student progress evidence next to what CBSE and the UAE authorities prescribe. It does not replace the school’s own plan.
We have mapped the course against the frameworks on our CBSE, ADEK and UAE AI framework alignment charts. These are our own ratings, not a board’s or regulator’s view, and some of the course content they were rated against is still being released. See what is free on the free plan page.
Bring this curriculum to your school
LittleAIMaster runs structured AI lessons for Grades 6-12 — 540+ chapters, teacher dashboards, and per-student progress visibility. The app is freemium, so your teachers can test the first chapters free before any conversation about seat licensing.
