Is Khanmigo Safe for Kids?
Khanmigo requires Account holder must be 18+; children access through a parent or school. Our own recommendation is Any school age, via a parent or school account. The most defensible option in this table for schoolwork, because the supervision model is built in rather than added later. The trade-offs are cost and a deliberately narrower scope — it will not do everything a general chatbot does, which is largely the point.

What is Khanmigo?
An AI tutor built on top of Khan Academy’s curriculum. Unlike a general chatbot it is designed to guide a student toward an answer rather than hand it over.
What do under-18s actually get on Khanmigo?
Learners under 18 get access only through a parent’s subscription or a school district partnership. A parent subscription can enable up to 10 children, and the parent can view chat history and receive alerts on flagged content.
What parental controls does Khanmigo have?
The strongest of any tool listed here: chat history is visible to the parent by design, with safety alerts, rather than monitoring being bolted on afterwards.
