Is Brainly Safe for Kids?
Brainly requires 13+ in the US, but under-16s are not permitted in some regions. Our own recommendation is 13+ in the US, 16+ elsewhere, with supervision. The community element is the real consideration, not the AI. Your child is posting into a space with other users, and answer quality varies widely because much of it is crowd-sourced rather than verified. Useful for seeing a worked method; unreliable as a source of truth, and worth pairing with the instruction to check anything important elsewhere.
Checked against Brainlyβs own terms and help documentation on 28 July 2026. Sources at the foot of this page.
Guided, age-appropriate AI projects instead of an open-ended chatbot. Free to start, no card required.
What is Brainly?
A homework Q&A community where students post questions and receive answers from other students, experts and increasingly AI.
What do under-18s actually get on Brainly?
The floor is 13 to comply with COPPA, but users under 16 are not permitted to use Brainly Services or Subscriptions in certain territories. In Brazil, a parent or guardian must read and agree to the terms on behalf of any user under 18.
What parental controls does Brainly have?
None built in.
